They are never too young to teach the value of chores right? Emma *loves* to come outside with me to see the baby chicks and the bunnies. We can open the door to the coop and sit on the porch and the chicks will come running to us! we discovered yesterday that they love rice so that is our new little treat to give them. They act like they have a worm and will will chase each other around, whoever has the biggest piece of rice gets chased!!! They are developing quite the personalities. We think a couple are roosters, but won't get rid of them until we are 100% sure. They are the biggest, most aggressive and bossiest to the rest of the flock.

Here is Emma with our little boy bunny. He is still very timid and won't come to the door the way the female will. But he loves treats and loves to be down in his run for a while. He runs circles and jumps, it's so cute! We still need to name these two. Any suggestions???

SO CUTE! IT'S GREAT THAT SHE LOVES ANIMALS NOW, IT WILL BE EASIER FOR YOU GUYS WHEN IT REALLY COMES TIME FOR HER TO HELP OUT WITH THEM!
NAME IDEAS: WILL SMILL & HALEY BERRY :)
LOVE YOU GUYS!!
Well, as far as names go you might steer clear of Sugar and Cinnamon...
Also, did you check to make sure it's all right to feed the chicks rice? I just know that's one of the reasons they stopped throwing it at weddings: the birds ate it, then it swelled up in their stomachs and killed them! Yikes. You may be eating them sooner than anticipated! By the way, Emma is the cutest chick in the hen house!
Dad, people were throwing RAW rice which expanded when wet. Cooked rice is fine because it is at expansion size. (plus we read that it's ok in a chicken book!) Thanks for being concerned and thinking about our little baby chicks.
How fun! Morgan would love living on a farm!
Jen, you guys should come down and visit! Coordinate it with Alisa and you can all come down together for a long weekend!
