Aunt Leah got to skip out on a week of school to come down and hang out with us! We hope we were more fun than school was. She left wanting to have a farm and hopefully on her way to getting her driving permit! Emma had so much fun walking with her around the house!
Emma loved having Grandma Sherry here. She got lots of attention and got to walk holding someone's hand A LOT! Forget hanging onto the walls!
We had a great week and got lots done. We got to go to the State Fair in Albuquerque all day on Friday and that was so much fun! We had every intention of making ice cream on Saturday...but that didn't work out! (Another post!)
The state fair had a 4-H section and a barn called the McDonald's Farm. There were LOTS of animals and most of them were babies! How could you leave there not wanting to adopt them all! Emma loved the little puppies and kitties.
There was too much to look at and she just didn't have enough time. Not to mention the fact that her right eye was running and she had a rash all around it and a slight fever. Come to find out, this little princess is getting 2 molars at one time and probably had a heat rash and a slight allergy to all the hay & alfalfa on the fairgrounds! She did fine though and didn't let her little ailments stop her. She absolutely loved seeing the animals.
We tried to get her interested in the tractor, but she was more interested in the bale of hay...
And when we took her into the petting zoo she *loved* it. The goats and sheep ate right out of your hand and nudged you for more. She just wanted to touch them and we let her feed them.
One even tried to nibble on her toe! It was a great week. Hopefully I will have more pictures soon when Sherry e-mails me hers. Thanks Grandma Sherry & Aunt Leah for coming to spend a week with us! We promise to have a "real" bed next time you come!
