So...feeling a little ambitious, we decided to embark on a little kitchen re-model project. Our cupboards are original and a flat finish so when you are up close you can see delicious meals of old stuck and stained to them...yummy I know...so we have been working to strip the cupboards down to the bare wood, sand, paint, distress, poly and apply new hardware to them. We are not finished but will be in the next week or so...here's what we have so far...

Doesn't he look so happy to be doing this project???

Emma wanted to paint too so we pulled out some stuff for her to paint and it was truly a mess all over her body, the table, etc. Good thing it washes off and we plan to sand and paint the table too!

So you can see the framing is done, now painted black...

And here are the drawers in and with their hardware on. If you click on this photo however, it will look like the drawers have stuff all over them, which they do and it's just dust. The poly wasn't 100% dry so we had to do some wipe downs after the picture was taken, but it looks great now. We also had some members in our ward give us brand new granite countertop that we will install (or someone else will...) once all of the cupboards are done and we will re-do the back splash.
The next project is the kids' rooms...
