So last night Emma got really sick and was throwing up and super pale and just felt awful. It was so sad to see her little body just lie there and be so miserable. I told my mom that I was so grateful I wasn't sick because Todd was at work and I didn't know how I'd handle being sick and cleaning up her mess too...well, low and behold it set in for me and set in hard and fast. I threw up for about 5 hours very violently and my stomach began to have severe pains where the baby was. At about 3:30am Todd called my OB and asked what we should do and she said to get me to the hospital. So, we all loaded up and went to the ER. Our OB dr. is in Santa Fe so when we got to the hospital here they didn't really know what to do with me, but they wheeled me upstairs to the OB floor and got me hooked up to all of the birthing machines. Max, it turned out, was just fine and was kicking and moving like crazy, but I was extremely dehydrated and near passing out and hallucinating as a result. They started me on an IV and gave me some anti-nausous medication through that which made me really loopy, but put me to sleep. Since I was going to be awhile, Todd took Em home so they could both get some sleep. I woke up several times shaking with a fever and crying. At about 9am, I was able to sit up and drink some apple juice and actually hold it down. At 10 I was able to get up and go to the bathroom. Todd came at 11 and stayed with me for about an hour while they finished up my IV and did my discharge paperwork. I have strict instructions to take it easy, drink, drink, drink, and monitor fetal movement.Todd has been amazing through all of this. It was a miracle (literally) that he got to take today off and stay home with me and Em and has been such a trooper, running to the grocery store, fixing us soup, doing laundry and helping Emma in and out of the bathroom! Thanks so much honey, I don't think I would have made it without you!!!
Also, as a side note, they discovered that I am dialated to a 1...I could be for a while, but I thought in the midst of all the turmoil a 1 was pretty good news.
