Around the Farm...

Well, the girls have had company...we brought "Rider" home on Friday night for a few days. Tonight we will take him home as he has done his job and we will have baby goats around the middle of March from both Oreo and Nutmeg. He is big and hairy and stinky and we are so glad we don't have a male goat!!! We let Oreo and Nutmeg out into the yard today to clean up leaves and Rider wasn't happy about the girls being away from him.
This little guy (or girl) was named "Elvis" by my dad. He was a chick we brought home for one of our hens to "hatch." His nest mate didn't survive the turkeys but he is going strong. He sleeps on top of the coop and lives outside of the chicken yard...we are going to have to start locking him in the coop at night as it gets colder so that he can make it through the winter! We hope that he ends up being a she so that we can keep him...otherwise it's bye bye Elvis!!!
