I can't believe that this day is already here! My little tiny emma-doo is growing up and is one year old! As a recap...Emma weighed 6.6 lbs at birth. She was born "early" according to the Dr. but was absolutely healthy.

After 3 straight months of painful colic for both me and her, this girl turned a new leaf and became the happiest baby I have ever seen. She LOVES to smile!

Emma has been through a lot in her 1 short year of life. She had acid reflux as a newborn and was in and out of the hospital for tests and ultra sounds. In December she got RSV & Croup and was hospitilized for 4 days in the ICU, and just as recent as last night in the ER for eating something she shouldn't! She has been such a trooper through it all and continues to radiate that strong personality and spirit she was born with.

Emma doesn't know strangers and is playful with everyone...but her favorite person to be with (even when her momma is in the room) is her Papa. These two have had a special bond since day 1 and neither of them would have it any other way!

So, sweet Em, now a toddler and not an infant...Happy 1st Birthday! Thanks for picking our family to come to and thank you for teaching me so much about love and life. You are such a joy to have in our home and lives! We love you!!!

"Emma, Come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three, climb up my apple tree, slide down my rain barrel, crawl through my cellar door and WE'LL BE JOLLY FRIENDS FOR EVER MORE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM! Love Nana
"This is your birthday song, it isn't very long! Hay!" Happy…happy birthday from your little friend in Ohio and her mommy. I know you may not have met yet on earth but you had to be best buds in the pre-existence. Have a great day and eat a big piece of cake for us!
Emma-nems,
Happy birthday to a special girl! I wished I could be there to celebrate with you, but hopefully will see you soon. Have fun and eat some cake for me. I love that you are my first grandbaby and remind me so much of my first child. That is extra special! Hurry over so we can play steamroller! Love, papa
