2010 NM State Fair!

We went to Albuquerque for the state fair this year to see our friends (goat and humans) competing for some ribbons. It was such a neat experience to watch them in the ring. When it came time to showing the Juniors they let Emma take one out into the ring and "show" her. The judge was somewhat less than thrilled that there were kids (not just goat kids) in the ring...oh well, it was an awesome opportunity for Emma and she did so good handling the little squirmy kid.
Todd also got to show a goat... "Gregii" and he didn't do so well...the goat, not Todd. This goat had never been shown and had some stage fright. Todd did well despite the seeming embarrassmentTo from this goat who couldn't pull it together!
Todd & Gregii and Phil & Zia. I think that Zia is the most handsome buck...he got 3rd place, Gregii got 5th.

We also stood in line in the heat of the ABQ sun for 30 minutes to let Em ride a real live pony for the first time in her life. She was elated. It was a dream come true for this little farm girl!
At the end of the day it was time to go...all 4 of us hadn't slept well in the hotel the night before and Max woke us all up at 6am that morning so it was time to go and get on home!!! Thanks State Fair for all your fun this year!

Look at that concentration as she holds her goat! I can see you guys as 4H leaders.
