So apparently we are potty training Max. I honestly didn't mean to and really didn't even want to but we are. Max is getting his 2nd year molars, the top ones and he has pretty destructive diapers when he teethes, to the point that his poor little bum is raw and covered in sores. Not that we leave him sitting in it, he just goes a lot and it just irritates the heck out of his skin so, a couple of days ago I took his diaper off and put a pair of undies on to "air out" his little cheeks. Of course he peed in them but at least his bum felt better. Then yesterday he said "Undies" so we grabbed a pair and tried it out and he peed in the toilet with a little convincing. We put him in a diaper last night and he woke up several times in the night (I'm sure it was because he had to go) but he peed in the diaper. This morning I took the diaper off and we said goodbye to diapers and put him in his undies and we've had ZERO accidents since. He's peed 3 times and pooped twice in the toilet. We won't do diapers at bedtime, I don't believe in that, so I'm sure we'll have an accident in his bed, but that's how we do it, and by the 3rd night of this program he will have it and we should be accident free including during bedtime! Happy to say I only have one in diapers now...that should save us a couple bucks! :)

Wow. That's so awesome :) Love those yo gabba gabba undies :) Good luck! Also, so rashes and such can be related to teething? I read that somewhere but didn't know if it was true. I know Annabelle's teething, and she's had the worst rash of her life this week. So sad!
Tell me everything you know ;)
WAY TO GO MAXEY!
Em, This is just how Max has teethed since day 1. He will have explosive diapers and his bum is just raw and then a few days later it will clear up. We spray dermoplast on his bum and do the heavy duty diaper cream to help clear it up because he's in so much pain. If she's teething and has a rash, my bet is they are related!
How do you not do diapers or pull ups at night? Do you get him up to take them to the potty? My oldest son has been potty trained for a while, but he still pees during the night at least once a week. It seems to me that he just doesn't know he has to go. Do you just change clothes and sheets in the middle of the night? I'm curious to know your method.
